Hi TI team,

If we directly provide the power from reference board(LaunchPad of CC2652) of 3v3 to our PCB(End-Solution). Everything works well. The LED of light is very strong.

But When we use the battery(3V) to provide power for our PCB. We found the LED of light is very weak. Even we use the new battery. And the power of battery kept consuming in previous situation that uses the battery to provide power. We have no idea why and we think the chip seems not completely up and it draws too many power because we ever see a successful case.

That successful case is that we use same battery. Then, the LED of light suddenly becomes strong and the power of battery do not keep consuming in our PCB.

Could you help us to check it? If you want us to provide more information for this issue, please let me know.

- What is the current consumption with the "strong" and "weak" LED? What is the voltage on VDDS, VDDR is the two cases?

- Have you tried to use a lab supply to change the supply from 3.3 V to 3.0 V?

- It sounds like you are able to get "strong LED" also on your board. What is different between the "strong" and the "weak" cases?

Have you tried to run some of the ti driver examples and see if they work as intended?

Hi TER,
All below testing is based on 3.3V DC power supply source. Same FW(Zed_switch) on our Door Sensor and Reference board. See below findings.
1. We test our Door Sensor standby mode drawing 4mA current. Compare with Reference board 2mA, it has more power consumption.
2. When GPIO to light up one LED, assume CC2652 works in Active mode. Our Door Sensor drawing 8mA current. And Reference board drawing 7mA current.

We also tested the example code of pinInterrupt_CC26X2R1_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs on the reference board of CC2652
We found it consumed 0.06mA in standby mode and if we light up the LED, it consumed 4mA.

Summary:
Our board draws more power even standby mode and active mode. Other question is why even reference board on standby mode drawing current up to 2mA. Our battery capacitance is 200mAh. From our calculate even in standby mode, it only can last for 4 days. The high power consumption is a very serious issue for this products.

Could you help us to check why we use the example code of zed_switch will consume 2mA in standby mode in reference board of CC2652?
We think the unit of power should be uA not to be mA in standby mode.

I have notified someone on the zed part since I haven't worked with that.
1) Is it zed you are running here? If yes, have you tried pinInterrupt on your board? Running a very simple example will make it easier to see if this is related to the HW or the SW or a combination.

If the current draw is different when the LED is on could be related to the LED (different LED, higher or lower draw). Try without turning on LEDs to see how the current diff is.

The Z-Stack power consumption issue you're experiencing is similar to previous cases which have been resolved:

These fixes have been addressed in the SimpleLink v2.30 SDKs which will be released by the end of this week.

It means TI will release the new SDK of SimpleLink v2.30 with zigbee plugin by the end of this week for the power consumption issue.

Could you provide me the link for the latest SDK when you release the latest SDK?

You can click "alert me" button on SIMPLELINK-ZIGBEE-SDK-PLUGIN of SIMPLELINK-CC26X2-SDK page so it will notify you when there is no release. Or, I believe there will be a sticky post on this E2E forum to announce it.

Hi Ryan,
You mentioned we could get the latest SDK(SimpleLink v2.30) with zigbee plugin by the end of last week.
But I checked the web sites of SDK of CC26x2(http://www.ti.com/tool/SIMPLELINK-CC26X2-SDK). I did not see the new SDK of V2.30.
Could you help me to check it?

It's probably slightly delayed. The CC13x0 and CC2640R2 SDK v2.30 came available just before the weekend.

There will no longer be a Zigbee Plugin as Z-Stack has been merged with the CC13x2/CC26x2 v2.30 SDKs, which as TER mentioned have been slightly delayed.
