CC256XEM-RD discrepancy between gerber and PCB guidelines

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC256XEM-RD, CC2564

Hi,

with reference to the CC2564 reference design with PCB Antenna CC256XEM-RD, I found a discrepancy between the gerber file swrc308a and the PCB guidelines documentation swra420a.

It's related to the antenna size, I wonder what tolerance I shall consider.
In example L1 is said to be 25.58mm in swra420a page 8, but I measure 25.98mm on the gerber.  See the picture below.

Shall I follow strictly the gerber or the documentation?

Thanks, best regards
Massimo

  • Hi Massimo,

You should follow the gerber since this reference design board was the one that was used for certifications and all the reference test data is based on it.

Thank you for pointing this out. We are investigating this to verify if changes in the documentation are needed.

FYI, as mentioned in the antenna selection guide the length of the IFA can be slightly different between different boards to compensate for the different sizes of the ground planes on the different boards.

    Best regards,

    Vihang
