Dear Team,

Please help to know about the LMX9838 evalbaord details?

http://www.ti.com/tool/lmx9838dongle

)     LMX9838 don't have any standard HCI interface. How is LMX9838 is

getting Rx/Tx data over uart using standard driver.

2)     What type of application (file transfer or pairing clients) can make

use of this dongle if allowed to connect to a PC?

3)     Is there any special EPROM or NVRAM with firmware on this dongle

which is taking care of LMX9838 to UART communication?

Regards

Rajesh

  • Hi Rajesh,

    1. The LMX9838 uses a set of high level commands. The commands are sent to the LMX9838 via its serial port and the LMX9838 answers with confirmation and indication messages. The list of commands and their format is presented in chapter 7 of the LMX9838 Software User Guide. Once a BT connection is created, the same UART is used for BT data transfer, either in command mode or in transparent mode.
    2. The LMX9838 offers Generic Access profile (GAP), Service Discovery Profile (SDAP) and Serial Port Profile (SPP). The module also supports audio transfer. Any other Bluetooth profile based on SPP like Dial-up Networking (DUN) or also audio profiles like Headset (HSP) or Handsfree profiles (HFP) can be implemented on the host controlling the LMX9838.
    3. There is NVRAM inside the LMX9838 that stores the module parameters. They are described in details in chapter 2.2 of the LMX9838 Software User Guide.

    Thanks,
    Julian
