C2564MODx BQB Bluetooth Certification

Hi Champs,

My customer is evaluating CC2564MODx for smart wearable. They have few questions about BQB Bluetooth Certification as follows. Would you kindly help me on those questions?

1. Does CC2564MODx pass the BQB certification? From CC2564MODx datasheet, CC2564MODx module is certified for the FCC, IC, and ETSI/CE.

2. If CC2564MODx pass the BQB certification, how much time and cost will be saved for them?

3. Is BQB a mandatory for bluetooth related products?

Thanks a lot.

Regards,

Young Hu

  • Hi Young Hu,

    1. BQB is the Bluetooth Qualification Body. An explanation of this is give below:

"The entire qualification program is overseen and administered by the Bluetooth Qualification Review Board (BQRB). Qualification is based on conformance testing (defined by the Bluetooth Qualification Program [BQP]) against a reference test system and functional interoperability tests with another operational Bluetooth product. Testing is performed by a Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility (BQTF) which has been accredited by the SIG's BQRB.

In addition to this testing, manufacturers seeking qualification must submit compliance declarations, which will be reviewed by a Bluetooth Qualification Body (BQB). In addition, Bluetooth products also need to obtain approvals beyond those issued by the BQB, such as FCC and CE."

SO what we do is provide you with the QDID from passing SIG qualification. Ultimately you must provide you system results with our SIG results to the BQB for approval and use of the BT logo.

    2. Since we are a Module, we do not require BQB. This is required at the end product and thus up to the customer. However this will be a substantial savings compared to performing SIG certification and the module level.

    3. Yes for the final produce.

You can find additional information on this at:

and our SIG information can be found at:
