I’m looking for updated certification on the LMX9838 Bluetooth module. We need to move to the new Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EC.

Looks these are the two standards that need to be updated. http://www.ti.com/lit/an/snoa503a/snoa503a.pdf

EN 300 328 v1.7.1 to v2.1.1

EN 301 489 v1.2.1 to v2.2.1

I apologize for the delay. I'm still getting used to the new forum setup.

The LMX9838 already meets EN 301 489 v2.2.1 (see datasheet).

We have not made a final decision regarding EN 300 328 v2.1.1 (current version is 1.9.1). If you have further questions, please contact me internally.

I am very interested in the final answer to this question as we currently have thousands of devices in Europe with LMX9838 and need to be compliant the new RED standard. Please contact me with an update!

When can I expect definite results? The standard becomes mandatory in 2-3 weeks time.

We hope to have our test results in 3 weeks. We will update the datasheet with the new certification once we have the results.

3 weeks will be past the 13th of June deadline. Can you please be more specific on the timescales? We ship a lot of LMX9838 based product to Europe and were given assurances by TI FAE that the module will receive its certification in time.

3 weeks is our worst-case deadline right now. We are trying to get this certified as quickly as possible. We update our FAEs weekly on our progress, so if you have further questions, please contact them.

The UL lab is still testing the device. We hope to have the report for EN 300 328 v2.1.1 by the end of this week.

Can you confirm that there are no complications with LMX9838 testing and the delay is purely due to bad planning on TI part?

Unfortunately we do not have the report. We are working with UL to get results as fast as possible. Please contact your FAE for more details.
