CC2564C: "write data to pcmi - use plc " in TI log for cc2564c, what can cause this error?

Part Number: CC2564C

Hello,

We used CC2564C chip with HFP in MSBC mode to communication, but in less than 2 minutes there is no voice.

We found in this case there is always "write data to pcmi - use plc" and "AVPR STATISTICS: Bad packets - 358.67% , Total packets - 11632 , Total bad packets - 2527" error in the TI log.

Would you please tell what will cause this error in CC2564C?

Log is attached.

Thank you.

Regards

Gao Hong

  • Hello Hong,

The CC2564C has PLC (packet loss concealment) implemented in the AVPR (used for Wide Band Speech).

    1. "write data to pcmi - use plc"

This trace indicates that the PLC is being activated because the CC2564C received a bad packet/missed a packet.

    2. "AVPR STATISTICS: Bad packets - 358.67% , Total packets - 11632 , Total bad packets - 2527"

This is a periodic trace log that indicates the current count of total and bad packets received.

The attached logs indicate that over time, the PLC is being activated more and more and eventually the Bad packets % just jumps way too high. This is when you are seeing the loss of voice channel. This could be because there are a lot of packets being lost after a while. This behavior has not been observed in TI EVMs running HFP on TI dual-mode Bluetooth Stack.

I understand that we have an ongoing email chain about debugging this issue and our firmware experts are also actively involved in this debug. I will update the status here once we get to the bottom of this. Until then, we will continue on the ongoing email chain.

    Best regards,

    Vihang
