CC256XB-BT-SP: spp demo is not scanning bluetooth 2.1 devices on inquiry command

hi i am sending inquiry command to cc256x but the inquiry result only contains ble devices actually i want to pait with a bluetooth 2.1 module

what should i do?

Mohammad,

First I'd like to know a little more about your setup: What host controller and version of the stack are you using? Can you send console logs of what you are seeing with this issue?

actually i used a stm32f407 kit and cc256x evaluation module . the stack i am using is dual mode bluetooth stack. i am using sp demo in kiel compiler . the serial console is running and i am successfull in sending commands using console but when i use enquery command the enquiry does not return much results it return 3 to 4 results and those all results are bluetooth low energy devices while i have a bluetooth 2.1 device on and discoverable kept beside the evaluation module but it still couldnt scan the bluetooth 2.1 device !!

Mohammad,

I'm using CC256x EVM along with and STM32 kit as well and am not able to reproduce the issue that you're seeing. What steps are you taking when you try to send an inquiry?

In addition, which version of the chip are you using? Could you send me a copy of the printout from your console?

I typed client command first then sent inquiry command which returned only one result although there are a lot of bluetooth 2.1 devices around me

okie i guess i have done a little mistake
the mocule is cc256xc not b , the isue is the same

the hardware caluation tool was not working so i used bts transformation tool to convert the bts files to c file it had several options so i used long array option which gave me an array
i did this for three files
init script, avpr and ble arrays were generated then i copied these array to cc256X.h file in the corresponding sessions i built and programmed but now the stack is now the console is stuck on openstack() function

2 things:

1) If you are using a CC256xC device, they should be copied into CC256xC.h
2) Make sure if you go to Project->Options->C/C++ Compiler -> Preprocessor -> Defined Symbols: __SUPPORT_CC256xC_PATCH__ should be there. If not, add __SUPPORT_CC256xC_PATCH__ to the Defined symbols.

actually there were three bts file and i dont know how the converter will convert those bts files into one single h file named CC256xC.h !!

In your stack, there should be a file called CC256XC.h in the same directory as CC256X.h. You said you had copied the arrays generated into CC256X.h, instead do the same thing but copy the arrays generated by the converter into CC256XC.h

can you please capture firmware logs? refer to section 4.2 of this document for info on how to capture these logs.
