CC2564B: initscripts-TIInit_6.7.16_bt_spec_4.1.bts does not support BT Core Spec 4.1 LL_SLAVE_FEATURE_REQ

Part Number: CC2564B

Hello TI-Support Team,

We tried to upgrade our BTS and discovered a new issue.

Based on the file: initscripts-TIInit_6.7.16_bt_spec_4.1.bts downloaded from:

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC256x_Downloads#CC256xB_-_Updated_Fixes_in_Service_Pack_1.6

Issue:

-          The CC2564B tells the mobile device to support BT Core Spec 4.1.

-          The mobile device send a LL_SLAVE_FEATURE_REQ command

-          The CC2564B device answers with Unknown Operation

I also logged the HCI interface between µC and CC2564B.

As you can see in the attached logs there is no traffic on the HCI interface between slave feature request and unknown operation answer.

So I suppose the issue concern only the CC2564B and the BTS pack.

It seems that the BTS does not really support BT Core Spec 4.1 (LL_SLAVE_FEATURE_REQ was introduced in 4.1).

TI told us the feature delta between 4.0 and 4.1 is only optional.

It seems that some required commands are not supported.

Is there an actual BTS with Core Spec 4.0 available?

Regards Tobias

  • Hi Tobias,

Do you have the FW logs (link) capturing this behavior? Which service-pack version are you using?

The CC256XB devices do not support the LL_SLAVE_FEATURES_REQ PDU. Please refer to the CC2564B BT qualification report (Declaration ID D022263) for additional details. You will also find in the ICS report of the declaration that the support for this PDU is conditional and not mandatory (6/4a under LL section).

Please note that this PDU is supported in the latest CC2564C.

    Best regards,
    Vihang

  • Hello Tobias,

Due to inactivity on this thread for over a week, I am assuming that the issue is resolved. Please open a new thread if there are additional questions.
