I have read through similar posts but could not find an answer to it, therefore I am writing a new post to ask. :)

I have been playing with CC2650 for a week now. When I get it, I can follow this instruction to flash the demo program without any problem.

After then, I started developing my own program based on PIN Standby example from TI-RTOS, and everything went great as well.

However, after then, I cannot flash it back with the demo example anymore. I tried to re-import the stack and the app, still no luck. I can easily unbrick it by flashing HEX files, but still, after I flash the stack and the app, it went dead - no LED blinking, cannot turn on, cannot be discovered with phone.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

What CC2650 EVB do you use? Is it CC2650STK?

Hello YiKai, yes I am using the CC2650STK with plastic casing with red rubber cover.

Try to download the attached cc2650stk_sensortag_rel.hex which is from BLE stack v2.2 to see if it is back.

Thank you! I did try to flash the hex file, and it did bring back the device. But my question is not solved yet.

Why flashing BLE stack and demo app from CCS cloud does not working anymore - brick the device?

Same happens here (CCS Cloud Run just kills the device, which can be restored flashing the example HEX), with the exception I have never made the demo work :( Any hint?

I test CCS cloud with my CC2650STK and it works fine. I have no idea why you cannot make it work. If it is possible, I would suggest you not to use CCS cloud. Try to download and install CCS 6.1.3 which is free to use to debug CC26xx.

After a bit more researching, I found an answer in the forum. It is suggested that when flashing hex file, the baseloader might be removed. I guess when flashing through CCS cloud, it is by default removing all unprotected page(?).

So what I did which worked, was to compile both the stack and the app program with CCSv6 (local IDE instead of cloud). When flashing, I chose only flash program contained pages. That solved my problem.
