CC2650: CC2650 gets burnt after soldering

Part Number: CC2650

Hi,

I'm designing my custom board based on CC2650. I'm trying to solder the IC but either using hot air gun ( set to 220 degree) or solder iron after soldering when I plug the 3.3 volts power it gets burnt. I always check all the pins for short circuits and everything is okay. I just could solder one board the it shows the board design is okay. Do you have any idea what can cause this issue? After powering the zinc it uses 1 amp current.

Is the IC very sensitive to temperature?

Thanks.

  • Hi Asad Lesani,

I think somewhere is short-circuited. If IC is dead, it can not be burnt
  • Hi Asad,

I agree with Luu, you either have a short-circuit in the design or you have mixed up some of the pins so the connections are not correct.

The CC2650 does not have any particular sensitivity to temperature and handles common soldering profiles. I have also given several devices a beating through various techniques of hand soldering without any problems.

    Cheers,
    Fredrik
