Hi, I am evaluating and developing an RF application based on the CC430F5137.

Whilst I appreciate I can communicate/program and debug using the ez430U the base CC430 has no direct support HW/SW for USB communications.

Is there a "default" or preferred way to implement USB interface support directly onto my solution.

At the end of the day I want to connect an application program (PC/Android) through a USB interface to configure the target board through set application parameters.

You would need a USB chip. One option is to use CC2511, the launchpads uses http://www.ti.com/product/tusb3410 for the debug interface.

Hi TER,

I looked at the CC2511 but it does not give me the RF frequency range I am looking at (SUB 1GHz)

the TUSB3410 is a possible albeit a complex and two chip option (interface & eeprom), I shall look at this further.

Sorry, I thought you wanted to use CC430. My suggestion was to use the CC2511 as USB only to get USB to serial to communicate with CC430. CC1111 is also and option if you want to use a 8051 MCU and build in USB.

Hi not sure where the confusion came from but just to clarify -

I want to use the MSP430 RISC CPU and the sub - 1 Ghz frquency range.

Hence having searched, I selected the CC430F5137 as giving me the best options.

The only limitation that this solution has, is there is no USB support.

Just would like clarification: -

That there is no better TI direct solution.
What is the simplest way to add USB support to this solutuion
