I am working on WSN based project using Thingsquar mist stack on cc2538dk using CCSV5 on Ubuntu 12.04.

While building blinker example I have got below error.Please lewt me know what was the cause for that.

Jagas,

I don't think there will be anyone who can help you here because the source you are compiling is not something we produced or have any experience of and none of the developers monitoring this forum work in the CC2538 group. I would recommend asking the question either on the support forum for the group that produced the source you are trying to compile or in the CC2538 forum. I can move this thread to another TI forum if that would be helpful - just let me know.

Please Could you gimme more info on how to debug contiki once we flash that on cc2538 using TI Flash programmer.

at the moment, the only "debugging" possibility i have found is to use printf() functions in your code and analyze it via UART.

Hi Leo,

Thanks for ur post and I am very glad that you have updated your blog with much needed information.

So far so good with compiling using cygwin and flashing with TI flash programmer and I am able to capture the packets using the packet sniffer.

But my main concern is how to perform the step by step debugging(break points n watch points) and check the flow and how events will be generated.

Do you have the CCSV5 project file for the contiki 2.7 or Thingsquare mist like the way you have done for CODE BLOCKS or atleast suggested me how to use contiki 2.7 or Thingsquare mist on ccsv5.

Previously I tried to use the thingsquare mist on CCSV5 and I have done some modification and able to compile and debug but could not able to communicate between the two board and I think The issue with the events generation.Since we got hanged when we were step by step debugging when we reached process_run() in main file.

Please go through the attached ccsproject files of thingsquare mist and Help me .

i am also trying to do the same (using the ARM GCC toolchain and Codeblocks) but haven't made it yet.If i would make it, i would certainly let you know.

Hi Leo,

I did follow your link http://embedded-funk.blogspot.de/2014/02/compiling-contiki-27-demo-for-cc2538dk.html and that works.

Now with a CCSv6 including GCC compilers for msp430 and ARM I am trying to achieve the same with CCS.

The reason that it is to have an options of flashing debugging the target (cc2538dk) with a contiki firmware.

So it did:

File > New > Project.. > C/C++ > Makefile Project with Existing > Code CrossGCC with Existing Code Location pointing to:

...\sources\contiki_test\contiki-master
when trying to build project i have errors:

“Program “g++” not found in PATH

Program “gcc” not found in PATH

Program “make” not found in PATH”

Should I set a Windows PATH to C:\cygwin\bin and C:\ti\ccsv6\tools\compiler\gcc-arm-none-eabi-4_7-2013q3\bin

Or should I do it somehow from within CCS project setting?

Hi Jagas, Leo,

I'm also struggling to set up Thingsquare mist stack for cc2538 in ccs6.
I'm not a fan on lunix and would like to get a contiki tool chain working in windows.
Eclipse CCS is a popular toolchain for embedded developers, I'm surprised Thingsquare dose not support this toolchain with there development kit.

Did you get this working?

Willing to share you Project config files?

Hi all,

Anyone able to setup/successfully compile contiki on CCSv6 using GCC (Linaro) compiler?

I am able to setup and compile the contiki code for rpl-udp example but the same is not running as expected.

Any help/suggestions are welcome.

Just finished a short guide on how to debug Contiki on Windows using Code::Blocks IDE. It is not easy to do, since you need to familiar with the GDB commands, but I think it will help in most cases for doing basic debugging:
