Announcing the CC1310 SimpleLink™ Sub-1 GHz Ultra-Low Power Wireless MCU

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1310, CC2650, CC2640, CC2630, SIMPLICITI, CC1120

We are pleased to announce the arrival of TI's new SimpleLink Ultra-Low Power Wireless MCU family and the CC1310!

Available documentation
The CC1310 product folder and the preview datasheet, both cover some key performance numbers of the new platform, are available at ti.com/product/cc1310.

In addition to the product folder, we recommend taking a look at the CC26xx/CC13xx Technical Reference Manual, TRM, which is shared across the Simplelink Ultra-low power wireless MCU family. This is the most complete technical document and covers all parts of the Wireless MCU. The TRM is currently available for download at ti.com/lit/ug/swcu117a/swcu117a.pdf

Early evaluation
The CC1310 is the Sub-1 GHz sister part of the now released CC2630, CC2640 and the CC2650. Because the MCU, the peripherals and the Sensor Controller Engine are shared across the whole family it is possible to do tests and evaluation of most features of the CC1310, except the radio, with the CC2650.

This also means that it's possible to get some hands-on experience with the TI-RTOS on the SimpleLink ULP family even before getting your hands on the CC1310.

To get started with the CC2650, go to ti.com/product/cc2650.

Please note that, while it's possible to evaluate most of the digital features, some performance numbers such as power consumption may be different across the product family. For example, the standby power consumption, when sleeping with RAM retention and RTC running, will be lower on the CC1310 than the CC2650.
