OOK with CC112x

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1121, CC1101

Hi,

I am looking for the OOK receiver for our existing OOK transmitter but I don't sure it is good for using CC1121 or CC1101 for such application.  Is there any sensitivity or range enhancement for using CC112x compared with CC1101.

In addition, I cannot find sensitivity reading for the CC112x with OOK operation with 25kHz or 100kHz Rx BW in the data sheet.  Can you provide us some reference no. on it.

Finally, I used the smartRF studio with the CC112x kit with transparent serial mode setting and found RSSI value will up to -80dBm if Rx BW is set to 100kHz.  Do you think the signal lower than -80dBm will not be receive with such setting?

Thanks,

HungLI

  • Hi,
CC1101 is for Wideband operation (58KHz ~ 812KHz Bandwidth) whereas CC1121 covers from 40KHz ~ 200KHz Bandwidth. CC1121 is good for narrowband applications. They both have similar performance at equal bandwidths ( 100KHz).
You can find Sensitivity spec for 4.8KBPS data rate, OOK, 66KHz BW in CC1121 data sheet.
For exapmle, Sensitivity for 2-GFSK, 38.4KBPS, 100KHz BW is -110dBm for CC1121. At 100KHz BW, it should receive closer to -110dBm.
    Thanks,PM
