AM335X with WL1835 - Pre-build Linux image

Using the AM335X EVM board and the WL1835 COM module. Works fine with the pre-build Maxtrix Launcher v2 app, but no use to me as I want to develop directly on Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, or anything like that).

Are there any pre-build images for this dev board where it boots into a linux OS that have the WL18xx drivers ready to go?

Also I would like Android to support the WL1835 module as well. The android that comes with the EVM board doesnt support WL8.

I've found this build http://downloads.ti.com/sitara_android/esd/TI_Android_DevKit/TI_Android_JB_4_2_2_DevKit_4_1_1/index_FDS.html

But when I boot up Android and go to WiFi and turn on, it just waits a few seconds and turns off?
