CC85xx-headset always on - power questions

Hi

I am setting up a static home multi-room system. I have 2 headset kits, configured as 1 master and 3 slaves.

They work OK, but I want to leave them 'always on', powered from mains-USB chargers. I am happy to leave the supplied batteries connected.  I have set the Power control on master and slaves to 'None', but after a while (overnight, coming back from work) I still seem to need to unplug the USB charger from the board, and/or turn the units on, and/or pair them .

I have seen

http://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/f/382/p/205553/729558.aspx#729558

but as I read it, the 6 hour power down should not happen if there is a battery  connected.

Do you have any other suggestions ?

Also, is there any way to reduce the intensity of the 'battery charging' LED - it is so bright it is hard to see what the Status LED is telling me.

Thank you

John Robinson

  • Hi John,

I am using the headset board aswell and have no issues with it turning itself off after a while. Have you verified that the battery is ok. It has been a while since I worked with the PPW stuff so I do not remember all the details, however you can try some other Power Control settings just to see if that changes things.

To change the intensity of the LED your only option is to replace the series resistor.

    Cheers,
