Max output power with CC85xx Development Kit's preloaded demo

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2590

With the CC85xx Development Kit's Preloaded Demo, the PurePath Wireless Configurator shows the Range Extender is set to "CC2590 (HGM)" for both the master (Tx) and slave (Rx).   Does this "CC2590 (HGM)" setting insure that the max 14 dBm output power available on the CC2590 chip is being used?  I measured the transmit output power of this Dev Kit  with a VNA right at the SMA antenna connector and got around 11 dBm.  How can I get this transmit power up to the 14 dBM max with the PurePath Wireless Configurator?

  • Hi  Betty,

The pre-loaded demo sets the output power to the maximum level by default. This corresponds to approximately 11dBm at the SMA connector. The CC85xx does not support higher output levels.

The CC2590 HGM/LGM settings are not relevant for TX operation, they only pertain to the LNA gain in receive mode. Output power in transmit is determined by the power level delivered from the CC85xx to the (in TX) input terminals of the CC2590.

    Best regards,
