Poor performance with C85XX Headset development kit

Hi All,

A few months ago I bought a C85XX Headset development kit from farnell. First test were actually not that bad. Due the workload I had to place the project aside. Now there is some time, so I picked it back up. And now the performance is really bad.

I flashed the default example USB headset application in both boards. Once paired, I'm able to control the volume etc. But the audio stutters, or sometimes there is just no audio at all while the modules are still pared.

Can somebody explain what is happening here? I tried different distance between master and slave, different orientation no good result.

Could there be interference with WiFi?

  • I had similar problems and they went away when I did a hard reset of slave and master (I disconnected the battery)
  • Lars,

Thanks for your reply. But unfortunatly is did not help in my setup. I supose it is more like the issue in another topic since I'm also using the master as USB sound card. There seems to be an error in the USB HIB causing audio lag/drops.

When I got the time I'm going to reflash the module to the original image to see if the resolves the issue. When it does, I know for sure it has something to do with the USB HID.

Is anyone else having troubles with this?

  • Mathieu,

Have you ensured that the EVM's are greater than a meter away from a WiFi router? I would try reflashing, the hard reset as Lars mentioned, and work back from the beginning ensuring there is no wifi signal around to possibly interfere with the stream (they both are on the 2.4GHz band) and move on from there. It should work around Wifi, I just experienced a little bit of issues last night, similar to what you describe and this fixed my problems. Hope this helps!

    Thanks,
    Evan
