Hi everyone !

I'm planning to run the proximity profile on a CC2540 or CC2541. I ordered some HM-10 with both CC254x chips on it. I also found this BTool that is provided by TI. I guess i need it to run this PXP profile on the module, right?

I use a serial interface from FTDI and tested it successfully with AT commands. With BTool I get this error: GAP Device Initialization Timeout. Device may not function properly. (that happens on every HM-10 i got)

Any Ideas? Or am I doing something wrong ?

Hi Rob,

I don't really know how you would do that on this module. Since it apparently accepts AT commands, it must be preprogrammed with something.

BTool communicates with TI's Network Processor image using an extended HCI command set, when the firmware 'HostTestApp' is programmed to the device. This is probably not on your device.

I suggest you contact the manufacturer.

Thanks for you quick response, Aslak.

Is it possible to flash the CC2541 with the original TI firmware ? A flashing tool is provided by the manufacturer.

Is there an image of the TI firmware ?

Hi,

Yes it is possible. Download the BLE SDK from ti.com/ble-stack and look at the example projects + software developers guide included. You need IAR Embedded Workbench for 8051 version 8.20 to compile.

Also browse to ti.com/ble-wiki and find the quick-start guides for the various kits and other information. The example projects' pin settings will probably not match yours, and I can't help you with that since I don't know your board.
