Hi,
Because TI suggested to use LFB182G45BG2D280 (murata), I am worried to play with an alternative. But unfortunately it is having around 14 week lead time. Is there any alternative for this which is readily available?

Ti also recommend the Johanson 2450BM15A0002E balun which is a similar footprint. I've also had better performance out of an ST balun which is also matched for a CC2540 radio. ST part#: BAL-025-01D3. Its cheaper, smaller footprint and has better insertion loss specs then the Murata or Johanson parts
Yes now I noticed that in the cc2540 dongle they have used the Johanson balun. Also it seems to be same footprint, but need to verify it. Also it is available in bulk without any leadtime. I think I should go with the johanson part.
I checked the ST part but seems to be expensive than the Johanson balun.
The Johanson balun is in a 0805 package, wheras the Murata and TDK balun is in 0603. Pin out is similar for all three.
The ST balun comes in WCSP I think, but I am not sure as we have never evaluated that part.
Cheers,
Fredrik
Hi Vinod,
All the baluns should be a direct fit to the CC254x and should have 50 ohm output, so no tuning of the balun should be required.
Dipole antenna is of course also an option, but filtering of harmonic emission can be a bit tricky. See this app.note for details: www.ti.com/lit/swra421
