Can anyone tell me where to find the description of the function of the firmware "sniffer_fw_cc2540_uart.hex"?

sniffer_fw_cc2540_usb.hex relates to the dongle

sniffer_fw_cc2540.hex relates to the Emulator board.

Does this firmware send the sniffer data to the CC2540 UART?

If so,can the PacketSniffer software analyse this via a serial port on a PC (after level conversion ..)?

sniffer_fw_cc2540_usb.hex : this is for CC2540 usb dongle. If you flash this FW into CC2540 USB dongle, you can plug it into PC and use Packet Sniffer to sniff BLE messages.

sniffer_fw_cc2540.hex : this is for CC2540DK (CC2540EM+SmartRF05EB). If you flash this FW into CC2540DK, you can connect it to PC using RS-232 port on SmartRF05EB and use Packet Sniffer to sniff BLE message.

The functions of sniffer_fw_cc2540_usb.hex and sniffer_fw_cc2540.hex are clear.

I was really interested in the function of sniffer_fw_cc2540_uart.hex

Hmm .. not sure what happened to the answer I sent you a few days ago.

The file is installed in the directory tree where the other two files are:

C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\Smart RF Tools\Packet Sniffer\bin\general\firmware\
