Hi,

I have a CC2540EMK-USB which is pre-programmed to operate as packet sniffer.

I also have a CC2541 Sensor Tag. I want to connect the CC2540EMK-USB and CC2541. What steps do I need?

In the quick start guide, there is mention of using the SensorTag with BLE Device monitor. BLE device monitor does not work "No response from BLE host".

Do I need to upload the correct image to the CC2540 dongle  CC2540_USBdongle_HostTestRelease_All.hex?

If so, will the packet sniffer functionality still work with this image?

    Hi Andy, 

    Yes, you need to upload correct image(which you have mentioned) to CC2540 dongle to work it as BLE device monitor.

    No, Packet sniffer functionality won't work after that.

    In order to enable sniffer functionality upload image "sniffer_fw_cc2540_usb.hex" to CC2540.

    Image should be at "C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\SmartRF Tools\Packet Sniffer\bin\general\firmware" if you have installed packet sniffer tool at default location.
