CC2541 evaluation module

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541

Hello,

couple of questions about the CC2541 evaluation module

1)Is there a way to plug the CC2541 evaluation module into the breadboard or would I have to solder wires onto it in order to connect external devices to i/o pins

2) The 2-layer reference design for CC2541 evaluation module seems to have a printed antenna on the board as well as coax connector to connect external antenna. Would that referenece design still work without the external antenna?

3) Is is possible to program CC2541 using another microcontroller like the arduino uno?

Thanks,

Harsh

  • Hello,

    1) You can use the SmartRF05EB and connect to it. Then all the IOs will be available trough different pin-rows on the EB.

    2) It should be ok. My estimated guess is there might be a very small (negligible difference). But for the remaining parts of the design it is very important to follow the layout related to RF. Also different PCB board characteristics will affect the performance.

    3) You might be able to this with the HostTestRelease project. But we cannot directly support micro controllers from other vendors. Also see some more info here:
