CC2540 USB Pins

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540, CC2530

I have a PCB that was designed with the CC2530 (Zigbee) and want to populate the CC2540 (Bluetooth) instead. I’ve done this in the past without issues. Recently, I noticed that the CC2530 has pins 1-4 as GND, but the CC2540 has them as the USB interface (DGND_USB, USB_P, USB_N and DVDD_USB). Since I'm using the CC2530 footprint, I ground those signals when I populate the CC2540. I won’t be using USB and haven’t seen any issues when I’ve done this, but I just wanted to make sure there are no internal connections that would make this a big issue.

I do plan to update the design before production, so this is just a temporary workaround.
