I looked at the sensortag 2 schematic.

I do not see any battery lines going to any ADC's.

I see a few options to rework a line into an analog pin.

Is that really necessary?

Any recommendations on monitoring battery life?

Or is that beyond the scope of the product?

See, this wiki more than implies that we can get battery voltage, however it is not listed in the gatt teardown.

I've also JUST found the battery voltage monitor on the cc2650.
It is documented here in section 18. www.ti.com/.../swcu117b.pdf

Do I have to add the GATT profile to ship these values off?

I think we are adding in a battery service using the on-chip battery monitor for our next BLE stack release (mid-July).

I compiled the Sensor Tag firmware with 2.1.0 stack but I don't see a battery status service.

I'm l looking for the same thing in the new 2.1 stack. can't find it either.

Is it not there in the 2.1? do we have to wait for 2.2?

Same issue, with firmware updated V1.12 from 23 July 2015 in Sensortag 2 cc2650. I can not get battery value however it is listed in the wiki but it does not appear in the gatt teardown

Hi all,

Just got feedback from sensortag team. The battery service will be included in 2.2.
The one on wiki was for BLE to add battery service on the old project we had, not really up to date.

Hi Christin,

I have installed ble_cc26xx_setupwin32_2_01_00_44423. I could see battservice.c in profile folder and which is getting used in some of projects like keyfob.

My question is " are these files up to date'?. Can we integrate it in sensor tag project

Hi,

If you are using sensortag project, there is already an existing displayBatteryVoltage() function in the project using internal on chip battery monitor. I don't see any problem integrating battservice into sensortag project on your own, but please be aware that you also need to modify the sensortag app in order to see those data in the app.
