I am receiving an HCI_HW_Error (HCI evt code 0x10 with parameter value 0x06) while communicating with the TI cc2564 in a panasonic 1326 module. I am working with an embedded in-house development BT stack.

The error occurs after I have an active RFCOMM connection and have been successfully sending and receiving data. Where can I find a list of the Hardware error codes? Can you tell me what the error code 0x06 relates to?

Hi Matt,

Can you give the complete error event in bytes? Are you using flow control using RTS, CTS lines?

Zahid-

Yes we are using hardware flow control RTS/CTS in this case. The full error packet is as follows { 0x04, 0x10, 0x01, 0x06 }

Hi,

0x06 : Bad Type.
This would suggest some UART issue on the host side.

I am also getting this error code after sending Gap_DeviceInit.
Can we please have a list of all the error codes please

Hi
I have wired a CC2564MODNEM eval board to an STM32F429 micro.
The UART conmunication is unreliable, either giving no responce, or giving the hardware error 0x04, 0x10, 0x01, 0x06 .
Sometime it gives the command complete followed by the hardware error.

This looks like a typical hardware connection error. You might want to double check that your connections are reliable and stable.

Thanks for the feedback on the error code.
Can you confirm it's OK to use 3.3v to interface UART to the CC2564MODNEM ?
I'm actually using the EM1 and EM2 connectors on the Dual-Mode Bluetooth® CC2564 Module Evaluation Board.
I'm seeing some odd levels, 2.2v on the CTS back from the board ?

Jon,

Yes, 3.3V should work. Perhaps you are not supplying power correctly or there is an IO contention on that line.

Can you also please confirm what software the development board comes with ?
Do I need to download the service pack to the CC2564 before it will work ? or are these just updates\fixes.

Hi Jonathan,

Any CC256xEM board works with any tibluetoothstack-sdk. So it depends on the host MCU that is used.

Hi Manuel

I have downloded and installed the stack, also solved my comms issues which is good.

I want to now build the host side bluetooth stack into my existing STM32f429ZI processor application.

I have the current STM32f429ZI application building inside the coocox IDE. Can you please point me at the source code\libraries (presumably its in the stacks installed directory structure ? ) for the stack I need to build into my application.

I need my application to act as a central to connect to multiple periferials in a piconet fashion.
Two way comms to all periferals is required.
Which elements of the stack do I need to build into my project ?

I am finding the CC2564MODNEM I have hardwired to my STM32f429ZI processor is behaving very differently to the CC2540EMK-USB module I have been using with BTool and HCI tester.
The CC2564 is giving errors for HCI command I had expected to work. GAP_DeviceDiscoveryRequest gets 04:0E:04:01:04:FE:01 which is not what I expected. When I issue the same command with Btool to the CC2540 it sees my bluetooth periferal and reports its name.
I suspect they are running different software ?
Is there similar firmware for the CC2564 as the CC2540 ? as it seems to be running HCI cammands much better.

The CC2564 and CC2540 are completely different devices. Which sample app are you using with the CC256x device?
