cc2564 has poor audio quality on HSP

I use LBMA1BGUG2 cc2564 (not cc2564a and cc2564b) for my bluetooth application. and i use pcm interface to connect BT module with cpu.

The audio quality is extremly poor on HSP, and at the same time I use arecord to record the wave file, and i use analysis tool to open this file, and I found the recorded wave is not continues, so i guess that the pcm interface has lost some packets.

the pcm mode of BT module is i2s slave, and the the clock rate is 256KHz and the frame clock is 8KHz.

Please help me to reslove the issue, thanks

Hi,

Considering you are already having an external codec in place.

Did you set the PCM configuration, using the below command before? http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC256x_VS_HCI_Commands#HCI_VS_Write_CODEC_Config_.280xFD06.29

And do you have an External antenna in place?

Yes, I have set the pcm configuration under linux.

#hcitool cmd 0x3f 0x0106 ....

And do you have an External antenna in place?

Yes, I use the external antenna of airgain N2430GNSM with 2.4 dBi @2.44 GHz

Hi,

Could you send the codec configuration command you are using, It’s probably not configured correctly.

This is the command you are using

I would recommend checking the following parameters if they’re correct on you platform:

Data out offset – I think it should be 1 and not 0.
PCM clock is 256K, Fsync is 8K. you have 16 bits per sample per channel. So this means that Fsync * 16 bits per sample * 2 (channels) = 256K. I think you should have the PCM clock higher. I Propose to set it to 512K or above.
Also make sure the Frame sync edge (and polarity) are correct.
