Read RSSI

Hi Everyone,

While looking into core API document found a HCI command to read RSSI but while testing the A3DP profile didnt found a command to read the RSSI, can you please let us know how to read RSSI??

The link you provided is for HCI commands, can you please let me know which .c/.h file should refer to add or use the HCI commands in SPP profile??

Hi Santosh,

You can use: HCI_Send_Raw_Command() in hciapi.h .
As mentioned in the link, opcode= 0xFDFC (ogf = 0x3f ocf = 0x1fc)

Thanks for your suggestion,

I tried calling the function as below and if I see the result the of read_rssi value, it is always 2

HCI_Send_Raw_Command(BluetoothStackID,0x3f, 0x01fc, 0,0,0,0,read_rssi,0);

Can you pease let me know if it is correct??

Also how can I know the RSSI of the particular Bluetooth device?? Does it gives the rssi of the nearest device by default?

Hi Santosh,

Please see: BluetopiaCoreAPI.pdf for the documentation of this API.
The return value should be '0' if successful.

You should be able to see some sample code which uses this API in the SDK itself.
