CC2564B Con_TX mode for RF tests

Hello,

I'm doing RF tests on the CC2564B on my board.
Using the HCITester, I want to show continuous transmission of BLE.
After sending the con_tx command, the transmits, but does not respond to further commands. It must be power-cycled. The results from the spectrum analyzer don't look like a smooth GFSK signal:

What I've done is loading the SP initscripts_TIInit_6.7.16_bt_spec_4.1.bts, then initscripts_TIInit_6.7.16_ble_add-on.bts. Then the Con_Tx command:

Send_HCI_VS_DRPb_Tester_Con_TX 0xFD84, 0x4, 0x2, 9, 1, 0x00000000, 0x00000000
Wait_HCI_Command_Complete_VS_DRPb_Tester_Con_TX_Event 5000, any, HCI_VS_DRPb_Tester_Con_TX, 0x00

Note that when I select other modulations CW/GFSK/2-EDR/3-EDR, the device is functioning.

What causes the device to stop reacting?

Hi,

Can you please use the commands as mentioned in: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC256x_Testing_Guide and see if it helps?

I've the steps on the wiki, but I'm not seeing much difference.

I've ran:

HCI_VS_LE_Enable 0xFD5B, 1, 1
Tx_Packets = 0
TX_AC = 0x71764129
Enable_BER = 0x00
TX_Channel = 0
TX_Power = 1
PacketLength = 0x25
PayloadType = 0x2
En_Traces = 0x00
FA_THR_inBits = 0x14
CRC_Value = 0x0000

HCI_VS_Set_LE_Test_Mode_Parameters 0xFD77, TX_Power, 0x0, Tx_Packets, TX_AC, Enable_BER, PayloadType, PacketLength, FA_THR_inBits, En_Traces, CRC_Value
HCI_BLE_Transmitter_Test TX_Channel, PacketLength, PayloadType

The board is still stuck after putting it in test mode and need to be power cycled.

Output power is -6 dBm at TX power level of 1. I've tried other channels, but it's still -6dBm.

Please tell me if this is the normal behavior.

Hi,

Could you try the Bluetooth Hardware Evaluation Tool? I am afraid you are missing a command or the command sequence is not correct.

Hi,

The first thing I was trying to use is the HW Eval Tool, but it does not work. I've confirmed with folks from TI in Israel that the released version on the wiki does not work and they told me to use HCI Tester instead.

Greg,

That issue seems more of a hardware or system setup issue. Per the description, the BHET tool is sending the data but there is no response back.
