CC2564 Debugging?

I am laying out the components for a new board that I am trying to build and I am thinking about incorporating the CC2564 dual mode Bluetooth module. I will be using a MSP430 MCU and will be purchasing a MSP430 Flash Emulation Tool. However, I want to know if the CC2564 has to be flashed once I purchase it off the shelf or does it work right out of the box? I'm trying to figure this out so that I can limit my board to only having to use the one debugger tool for in system programing.

The demo app/stack which runs on the MSP430 will take care of the firmware download to CC256x.

Does this setup only work with the MSP430F5438 Experimenter’s Board and the MSP430F5438 mcu? Or can I use any MSP430 to download the stack to the CC256x?

All MSP430 (with flash > 128kB) , please note that you will have to do some porting activity for other MSPs.

So basically I would have to reconfigure the GPIO mapping within the Bluetooth stack so that another MSP430 that's not the MSP430F5438 can work with the CC2564?

Hi Andrew,

Yes, that is correct. If you download the SDK, it will have a document called: "Hardware Porting Guidelines.pdf" which exactly tell you what changes are required.
