Hello,

I have a simple setup: CC256xQFNEM with TM4C129X Development Board and MAX9867 audio codec. I can get/send audio data over SSI from/to audio codec and microprocessor. I am struggling with the question, how I can establish communication between audio codec and CC256xQFNEM module. Which function in code needs to be adapted to my needs? BTVS.c contains couple interesting functions. Basically my data of interest sits in ping-pong buffers, how can I transfer it cellphone over Bluetooth?

Hi Linas,

There are two commands that you can use to configure the PCM/I2S interface in the CC256x device:
processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC256x_VS_HCI_Commands
HCI_VS_Write_CODEC_Config (0xFD06):
HCI_VS_Write_CODEC_Config_Enhanced (0xFD07)

In fact, there is the "VS_PCM_Codec_Config" API in the BTVS.c file which is a wrapper for the "HCI_VS_Write_CODEC_Config (0xFD06)" command.

Thank you for pointing me to the right direction. The codec interface isn't connected (and soldered) on the Bluetooth module.

The PCM/I2S interface is available in the EM connectors. Note that the default configuration of the level shifters is set so that the CC256x PCM/I2S interface is the master.

Do you talk about Tiva board or CC256x module? Because I can find the needed pins in the schematics of CC256x module and they aren't connected on the Tiva board (page 32 on the document SPMU360 from October 2013).

The CC256XQFNEM board. Note that there is no codec on the Tiva board so an external codec board is required.

Thank you! In my design PCM data goes through Tiva C for processing. Looks like, the intention of the demo software was having audio codec directly connected to CC256XQFNEM.

Yes, the demo assumes an external codec would be used.

Note that the Tiva C does not have an I2S/PCM interface.

One more question: where to put VS_PCM_Codec_Config(BluetoothStackID, 128, 8000); call? I have it in HFRESetupAudioConnection() right now, but my Frame Sync frequency does not change.

Linas,

You should place it on the "HFRE_Event_Callback"; specifically, on the "etHFRE_Audio_Connection_Indication" case.
