TRF7970A EVM Peer to Peer Mode

Dear TI Team,

I have received new TRF7970A EV Modules, I´m trying to establish a connection in Peer to Peer Mode with the GUI. I have managed to connect my PC´s  with  the Boards, but when I follow the steps described in User Guide, I  keep getting the message "Set new target CID number". 

I have tried to set up another CID´s as the predefined ones and still keep getting this message. It doesn´t matter whether they are the same or different in Initiator/Target setup.

What is the exact meaning of this message? Is it possible that the Module, configured as Initiator, can´t find any target, or didn´t it find the specific target?

Does TI have a workaround for that?

    Dear Dietrich,

    before clicking on Execute make sure that the two TRF7970A EVM are close the each other that the can tx/rx data.

    The steps before are exactly as mentioned on the guide.

    Thanks for your reply. 

    Do I have to click on Execute? The User Guide mentions the Execute button at  2.9.4 - NFC Text Message Transfer.

    However, I didn´t reach this point so far. The message "Set new target CID" comes always up right after clicking on the connect button.

    I´ve attached the log-file from the initiator. What is also confusing, is that I can read the Tags in the other tabs as long as my GUI doesn´t crash

    I will try again with connecting, but I´m pretty sure, that distance is not the problem.

    I got the same error message "set new target cid number" too.
    Two TRF7970A EVM is very close (less than 5mm) but I still got this error message.
    Do you have any comment about this?

    Hello MRC and others,

    For Peer to Peer mode with the TRF7970A please refer to our P2P reference design found here: 

    It contains an updated firmware stack, and is designed to run on the MSP430F5529. It also has a detailed User's Guide to explain how to operate it.

    You can get an evaluation bundle for this firmware to test P2P on the TI eStore: store.ti.com/nfclink-bndl.aspx

    The P2P firmware on the TRF7970AEVM is not being updated at this time. Unlike the older EVM source code, this provided TI Design firmware has been tested extensively to validate the NFC stack for both interoperability and robustness.

    No, worldwide AE told me to use TRF7970ATB with MSP430F5529 EVM.
    They said the GUI with TRF7970AEVM can only work at read/write mode.
    P2P mode is not working.
    So finally I tested my problem on TRF7970ATB with MSP430F5529 EVM.
