RF430F5978EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RF430F5978EVM, RF430F5978

Hello,

we got the latest version of the RF430F5978EVM. There is at least a driver problem for the AR434R01 AP dongle when using W7/64. Device is detect as "MSP430-USB Example". Hardware is based on the F5509. A dedicated driver is not in the kit. The driver from the Chronis kit (same AP) does not work.

I also miss the standard sources coming typically with a TI kit for developers - firmware for the RF430F5978 and the F5509 and a hardware documentation for the RF430F5978 board. What are the three buttons for? Where is the MC programming interface?

  • Hello,

for using first time the AP434R01 dongle you need to use the RF_AP.inf file. Please select this file by com-port installation. The file is placed in C:\Program Files (x86)\RF430F5978EVM\driver.

The source not include in the kit yet.

The three button can you use for your own code, but at the demo code the left  and the middle button is used for switch between 2.1V and VBAT voltage.

    Regards

  • Claus, thank you. For some reasons the driver folder was not found by the OS. Reboot and new installation fixed the problem. EVM runs. Documentation is sufficient, just the MSP430 code is missing. Siegfried
