I'm giving up NFC Texas Solution

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F2370, TRF7970A

I have a project with TRF7970A and MSP430F2370.
I designed a pcb with this components and it worked.
However, I can not get a good example of write and read information from a Mifare Classic Tag. I downloaded some examples from TI and they work with Code composer.
I requested the firmware with works with this tag and I downloaded it. However it must be used with IAR.
All codes have almost no information and a lot of abandoned lines inside, wich makes very difficult to understand.
So my option now is give up Texas NFC and use NXP nfc, because they have a NFC Lib.
Does anyone can help? It will be a lot of work to design a new board with new components but I see no solution with Texas NFC.

Regards,

Francisco

  • Hey Francisco,

    Sorry you're having trouble.  :/

I do have some good news thought, I have spent the last few weeks working on some of our Mifare code ( and I will be spending several more doing so).  I'm currently developing on a F5529 EXP board + TRF7970A platform.  The code is getting much better and more stable.  It's consistently passing Auth1-3 and reading blocks.  I haven't fully tested the write block function yet, but since I've made the base communication/modulation more stable there should be no problems.

The plan is to finalize this code, and port it back to the TRF7970 EVM (F2370 + trf7970A).  This code/project is not clean yet though.

Let me work on it tonight and tomorrow and see if I can clean it up some and I can give you a copy.  I'll try and go ahead and port it to the TRF7970A EVM, but that may take a little more time.

In the mean time, let me know if you have any specific questions about Mifare Classic.

    Thanks,

    JD

  • Hey Francisco,

I cleaned up the latest Mifare Classic code I'm working on.  I'll contact you directly about getting you a copy.  I also will have to make sure you registered for the code already (which it sounds like you have)

Let me know if you have any questions/comments.

    Thanks!

    JD

  • Hey JD.

Could I also get a copy of the new code? Is the modification related with the issue in my project?

    Thanks a lot!

    Best Regards,

    Jeanne Yi

  • Thanks for your answer JD.

I´m registered to access some secure software but I could not access the code you sent me.

In my account there is only TRF796X_TRF7970X_MIFARE_12_2013

In case you are interested this is the link to my project. It´s a indiegogo campaign.

  • Francisco,

I like your project, it looks very interesting!  I just sent you a Private Message to e-mail me for the code.

    Good luck!

    JD

  • Jeanne,

I'll send you the code today.  Again, it's currently for a F5529.

    Everyone else,

I should be porting this latest version of the code back to the TRF7970A EVM in the next week or so.  When it's ready to be released, we'll update the code you and download from the web.

    Thanks,

    JD
