TI2048 RFID Transponder For Animal Tags

The Tag-it™ HF-I transponder IC is part of TI’s 13.56-MHz product family that is based on the ISO/IEC 15693 standard for contactless integrated circuit cards (vicinity cards).

Question:  Is it possible to use TI2048 on pigeon rings for animal tracking?

Any help in this subject will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Oscar

  • sure - there is no reason they cannot be used. you would need to make antenna system inside or around the coop where they land. Recently i made this drawing for someone else looking for same solution. Hope that helps you too. antenna could be arranged other ways, too - this was just example with off the shelf hardware.

  • Josh, thank you for your answer..

I have the antenna system and reader module, the problem is finding a tag supplier, the companies I contacted do not make pigeon rings with this chip type.

Do you know of any manufacturer making TI2048 pigeon ring tags?
