Hi,

I am using microreader evaluation board (RI-STU-MRD2) as a reader for one of my RFID project. Before this we are able to read the 32mm transponder RI-TRP-DR2B with NO problem. Lately cassette material where our transponder install on it had change from plastic to metal, Aluminium. After this changes we are facing problem to reader to 32mm transponder RI-TRP-DR2B. Is it because of the transponder back ground (cassette) had change to metal. Any suggestion to resolve this.

Richard -

most likely you have changed the tuning of the tag or reader or both now with the introduction of the metal into the field.

you can try now adding some separation between the tag and the metal.

Dear Josh,
Thanks for your reply.
I had try to conceal tag with plastic housing but it's still unable to reader it.
How do we tune the reader and tag?
Can we still able to use with current hardware setup? Or need to change new tag and reader. Any suggestion?

can you take a couple picture of your setup? with a shot of tag relationship to metal and reader to tag relationship thanks
