CC3000 wlan connect timeout

Hello,

I upgraded the CC3000 firmware version to 1.28 and I am able to connect using wlan_connect api.

But I want to know how long the connection will be active? So that I can again retry for the connect in my application.

Can anyone let me know about this?

Hi Sowmya,

The WLAN connection will be active as long as either sides do not initiate a disconnect. To track disconnection, you can keep a check on the 'HCI_EVNT_WLAN_UNSOL_DISCONNECT' event. Upon receiving this event, if required, initiate a WLAN connection from CC3000.

Thanks for the reply.

In my application, cc3000 wifi module will be a client and if the server is turned off or if the connection is lost, I will get 'HCI_EVNT_WLAN_UNSOL_DISCONNECT' event or I have to check the connection status?

Right now the application is checking connection status each time before it send or receive data.

Hi Sowmya,

The 'HCI_EVNT_WLAN_UNSOL_DISCONNECT' is an event only to detect the WLAN disconnection.
If the AP disconnects or powers off, the CC3000 should get the event 'HCI_EVNT_WLAN_UNSOL_DISCONNECT'.

Hi Raghavendra,

I tested using 'ANDRIOD AP' and when I turned off the wifi in my cell phone, I was not getting the 'HCI_EVNT_WLAN_UNSOL_DISCONNECT' event. So I tried by polling connection status.

For what reason I may not getting the disconnect event?
