CC3000 EEPROM Life When making calls to netapp_dhcp()

I notice in the documentation for netapp_dhcp() that the IP, Gateway and Mask are written to NVM.  In the example code for the CC3000 netapp_dhcp() is called every time a WiFi connection is requested.  Does this routine affect the life of the EEPROM or does the CC3000 take care of only writing to EEPROM if there is a change?

Thanks, Kevin
