CC3000 hangs after sending a UDP message only when the CC3000 has a Fixed IP address.

This problem only occurs on 3 devices out of 110 devices checked. I using CC3000 firmware Version 1.24. If I switch to DHCP everything works fine. I wait until I am connected to the access point, then I open a UDP socket, then I open a TCP socket, bind and listen for a Client before sending the UDP message. If I make the TCP connection before the UDP message is sent the CC3000 does not hang.

Hi Kevin,

Can you please confirm the Host driver version that you are using? It should be 1.11.1.

Can you please try using the SDK version 1.14/SP 1.32 and use the ARP events as mentioned in the below link?

I ported the 1.14/SP 1.32 into my application and added the hooks to wait for HCI_EVNT_ASYNC_ARP_DONE. The CC3000 still hangs when the UDP message is sent when I am using a Fix IP address. The problem only occurs on 3 units out of 115 tested. I have played with a delay between when I receive HCI_EVNT_WLAN_UNSOL_CONNECT and sending out the UDP message. With a 5 second delay it works some of the time but not consistently. With DHCP it works every time without a delay. There must be some other state that I need to wait for before sending a UDP message.

Hi Kevin,

If you want to work with delay, then I would suggest to add considerable delay only after the first udp sendto command.

The transfer should be smooth from second sendto command.

The CC3000 hangs as soon as the UDP message is sent. This problem only occurs on the three CC3000 out of 115 CC3000 . When I did get it to work unreliably I put a 5 second delay between receiving the IP address and sending the first UDP message. Also I am waiting for a TCP connection to connect at the same time.
