CC3000 SmartConfig App in Google Play Store?

Why is there not a SmartConfig App for the CC3000 in the Google Play store? Check out these instructions as an example for Android users. That process is unreasonable for most users. There's a TI app in the Apple iTunes store, why does it have to be so much harder for Android users? I'm eager to hear some insights from TI Employees.

Are you asking about the CC3000 or the CC3100/CC3200? As you have the wrong forum if you are asking about the CC3000.

There is a SmartConfig App is Google Play, see links here - play.google.com/.../details;hl=en

Glenn Vassallo Thanks for the response. I understand that this is the forum for the CC3100/CC3200, but I can't find one for the CC3000, and I figured it falls under the SimpleLink banner. I realize there *is* an app for the CC3100/CC3200 in the Play store as well, but what's not clear is would this app work for CC3000 based devices as well, or is there some fundamental difference on how SmartConfig works on the CC3000 as compared with the CC3100/CC3200?

Thanks also for the link to the other thread, That thread has been dormant since October 2013, and so far as I can tell the situation hasn't changed since then. I'm happy to follow up on that thread as well.

Hi Victor,

The smartConfig app for CC3100/CC3200 will not work for CC3000. CC3000 package at present is only available as an APK with the package.
Regarding the availability on play store, I would have to check this internally and get back to you.

Thanks Raghavendra Shenoy. Please do check internally and get back to me. Seems like it should be an easy enough thing to do to get the APK onto the Play app store, since TI has obviously worked that process out for the CC3100/CC3200, right?
