Hi All,

I am a MAC(Lion/Mountain Lion) user and I don't have windows PC at all.

Can some one help me how to use libraries, programs and cross compilers downloaded from TI website, can be used with MAC(Lion/Mountain Lion) in order to develop solutions using CC3200.

For example, I downloaded CC3200SDK-0.5.2, but I could only get windows installer. Is there any alternative for other operating system users (like ubuntu or OS-X)

Suggest any alternatives.

I think best thing to do is working on a virtual machine on mac. You can use virtual box for free. I dont think there is a mac version of software available.

Hi Gan,

There are a few options available, but it will dependent on what you are developing and how you prefer to develop.

As for installing libraries etc., you will need a Windows virtual machine as Mehmet has suggested, even the SimpleLink IOS App needs to be extracted on a Windows machine and then transferred to a Mac so you can then open it with Apple's Xcode :-)

We are working on an Energia port for the CC3200 and will run on all platforms (OS X, Linux and Windows). For those not familiar with Energia (http://energia.nu), Energia is a rapid prototyping platform for the TI LaunchPad's and is based on the Wiring/Arduino framework. A release will be available end of August.

You can also use GCC/OpenOCD which runs on all platforms including OS X. This is what I have used during my development of the Energia port to CC3200.

Hi All,

Thanks to every one who answered my queries.

I completely understand the situation now. I think I will probably go with windows VM or something of that nature.

Meanwhile I will keep an eye on 'energia' as well.

Did the Energia port of the CC 3200 SDK ever get finished? I'm a Mac user trying to use the CC3200. People on the forum keep pointing me to the SDK and utilities which are only available for Windows.

I see that this is an old post but thought of giving it a try, just in case I find a solution. I am also a Mac User using CC3200. The Blinky example have a gcc make file and does work on Mac. However, I am interested in using the HTTP Client example. Any idea on how I can do that.
