cc3200 can't acquire IP

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3200SDK, CC3200

Hi,

I'm using the cc3200 launch pad and testing the wlan_station project (from the CC3200sdk v0.52). The output from TeraTerm when running is like so:

************************************************* CC3200 WLAN STATION Application*************************************************

Host Driver Version: 0.0.5.1

Build Version 2.0.7.0.31.0.0.4.2.1.5.3.3

Device is configured in default state

Device started as STATION

[WLAN EVENT] STA Connected to the AP: Home ,BSSID: x:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

It hangs here and never displays that an IP is acquired like so:

[NETAPP EVENT] IP Acquired: IP=192.168.1.116 , Gateway=192.168.1.254

When I've tried wlan_station on other routers, it has worked. It's only failing to acquire an IP address on my home router. I've tried rebooting router, confirmed that security setting, SSID, and password are correct. Other devices like MacBooks, PCs, and iPhone's can connect to the router fine.

What should I do to debug, considering it's only failing on this specific router?

  • Hi Daniel,

Can you please send me your exact AP module, both HW and SW (if you have access to the AP configuration screen, you should be able to find its' SW versions).

In addition, can you please connect to this AP in the following modes:

    1. Using Static IP configuration - Set the CC3200 to use Static IP instead of DHCP. Please make sure to set the an IP address which is in the same subnet the AP is configured to.
    2. Without security - Set the AP to "open" mode.

If you are able to provide air capture of a failed connection (using wireshark or other utilities) then it would help as well.

    Thanks,
    Alon
