Hi SimpleLink team,
We have 3 CC3200 units. How can we use these units (or other ones) to be able to modify the standard WiFi behavior? We want to have low level access to WiFi functionalities.
Thanks!

Hi Fernando,
SimpleLink supports Tranceiver mode that allow you to send and receive raw data directly on layer 2 or layer 1.
You can find more details in chapter 16 of programmers guide http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/swru368
Does it meet your needs or else what other modifications you have in mind?

Hi Ben,
Thanks for the info! it is very similar to what we are looking for. I was reading this webpage as well:
http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC31xx_%26_CC32xx_Advanced_Networking#Use-cases
where it is mentioned that: "CC3x00_TransceiverMode_vXX.pdf has detailed information on this topic."
How can we get the document(s) CC3x00_TransceiverMode_vXX.pdf?
Regards
Hi Ben,
the transceiver mode could be what we were looking for, but we would like to have it even in a connection mode, that is, when a STA is connected to an AP. Is it possible to do that somehow?
Additionally, we also would like to have a development board like the CC3200, but with an Ethernet port. We are looking for a development board with:
* A WiFi embedded chipset with the basic AP or STA functionalities already implemented, but that allow us to modify the basic functionalities stated in the 802.11 standard. We need to be able to control the desired transmission time of frames with high precision (in the order of microseconds).
* 1 Ethernet port to send and receive information from an external device.
As you see, it is basically an AP/STA, that additionally allows us to develop our own proprietary system.
Is any of your boards suitable for this?
Any additional information on where could we find such board is appreciated. Thanks!
Best regards
Hi Frenando,
For transceiver mode please check out the following WiKi pages:
http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC32xx_Transceiver_Mode
http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC31xx_%26_CC32xx_Transceiver_Mode
Unfortunatly, CC3200 does not supoprt transceiver mode while connected as STA or in AP mode.
You should also check the RX filtering options. You can start with the example application:
http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC32xx_NWP_Filter_Application
For the Ethernet platform query, please issue a seperate thread.
