Hi
Can you share more details?
How are you measuring? What is the used protocol (TCP/UDP)?
Do you only see it on first packet or also on consecutive packet?
Ben
I'm using TCP, would UDP be faster?
I turn on a output pin at the start and then turn it off after I close the socket and watch the pin on a scope
as I make the data packet larger the time increases but by a lessor factor, as expected some is overhead.
also I'm using a cc3200 launchpad, is a faster version of the chip going to be released?
Hi,
I want to make sure I understand entore process. Please confirm if the following is what you measure or correct:
Ben
yes that's it , using HTTP server
sl_NetAppStart(SL_NET_APP_HTTP_SERVER_ID);
I am a bit confused, are you a client or a server? I assumed client but you wrote that you started the internal HTTP server.
Can you explain the setup.
I am trying to estimate whether your timing measurement contains meainly the send command or also the TCP session establishment and other factors as well that also highly depend on the response time of the other side.
Ben
it's setup as an http server and a wireless AP and when I click on the capture button on the browser it does an sl_send and my bit toggling is on each side of that,
in general is UDP faster? or maybe a websocket?
this is for transmitting an 1M pixel image, (about 1.3 MB of data) I need to do this in less than 1 second, seems like this sort of thing is done all the time.
The guy on the TI support line said that we could do an online chat session, would that be possible? might save a lot of time
Hi,
UDP is faster than TCP but there is no guarantee on delivery.
CC3200 supports 16Mbps for UDP and 12Mbps for TCP.
Ben
How about WIFI direct?
I Can't seem to get the UDP example to connect to my PC setup as an AP
Hi,
Which example is not working for you, please share the link. What do you mean "PC setup as an AP"?
You will not get more TP using WiFi direct since the AP is not the bottleneck in this case as far as I understand.
Ben
