CC3100MOD programming

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, CC3100MOD, CC3100

I'm a little confused about programming the CC3100MOD in production. We intend to use the SPI port as reccomended,  and we don't want to use a special hardware tool in production (to support Uniflash). The main processor in our application (which is running linux) has a spare UART and one spare 3.3V GPIO. We intend to power the CC3100MOD from our systems main 3.3V power source.

To program the CC3100MOD, some sources on the wiki and in other TI documentation suggest that you need the UART and to control nReset. Others suggest you need access to nHib, and still others suggest access to SOP2 is required.

Can someone direct me to a definitive programming specification that outlines not only the hardware requirements, but also the protocol/command set for using a UART to reprogram the CC3100MOD?

Thanks,
