Put Your SimpleLink On The MAP

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3100

All,

We are introducing a new SimpleLink Studio application that adds the CC3100 Device Location on Google MAPs. [Currently we are supporting CC3100 only]

Try these links [If you run the tests you will be able to see your own device MAC address on the MAP]

[The above link shows the list of devices -  verify that the time has been updated]

We would like to ask you to run this application and help us build a nice map of all SimpleLink CC3100 devices around the world.

Enclosed is MyLocation.exe utility that is based on the SimpleLink Studio.

All you need to do is the following:

  • Connect your Booster Pack board  with CC3100R1 OR XCC3100HZ  + Emulation board to your PC
  • Run MyLocation.exe
  • You will need to specify the AP info
  • i.e. MyLocation.exe SSID_NAME SEC_TYPE SEC_KEY
  • The application will connect to the AP (based on the provided information)
  • The locations will be collected in a Drop Box and can be shown on Google MAP (refresh every few minutes)
  • The location is based on the Internet source provider and mobile hotspot shows different location at all

If the test fail for any reason please send the information below:
