LM1117 regulator with cc3200 instead of TPS79601

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3200, LM1117

Hi,

I  am thinking to use  lm1117 3.3V  800mA for supplying powe to cc3200  along with  10uF/16V tantulum cap (as in the datasheet for lm1117)  instead of tps79601. Also if i connect 100uF/16V near the power pins of cc3200.

  • Hi,

You can use the regulator LM1117.PSRR is a little concern as compared to TPS79601.We can take care of the PSRR requirements in the layout. Please make sure that you have separate ground planes for Vin and Vout and short the ground planes near the ground pin of the device..Please do not use via for connecting the decoupling cap's ground pin to the ground..Instead connect it directly to the ground.
