SMARTRFTM-STUDIO: SmartRF Studio RSSI Plot Scaling Issue

Part Number: SMARTRFTM-STUDIO

Team,

Can you comment on the following: SmartRFStudio 7 creates an RSSI plot such as the attached image with a very odd Y-axis.This only happens on a particular computer for this customer. How can we adjust the scaling of the plot manually?

  • Hi B,

I have notified our Tools team.

  • Hi,

Thanks for reporting this. Currently, you cannot adjust scaling of the plot manually, so there's no immediate fix for you.

The RSSI plot window simply uses all the space it gets, and in your case with a 200%(?) screen scaling it gets a lot of space. The y-axis starts at roughly -120 dBm and increases for the entire size of the RSSI plot. It increases beyond all reason in the above picture. It would make sense for the y-axis to stop at a certain max value (e.g. 30 dBm) and zoom the y-axis if the available space for the RSSI plot is bigger.

A second (related) problem that I see from your picture is that the axis scaling does not take "screen scaling" into account. That becomes very apparent on your screen, which looks to be using screen scaling 200%. This is something we must fix so that the graph is "zoomed" on scaled screens as well.

  • What version of SmartRF Studio is the customer using?
  • This is version 2.6.0. The laptop in question has a display resolution of 3840x2160. Scaling is set to 175%
  • Thanks. I have filed a ticket for this, hopefully it'll get fixed in not too long.
