RF430CL330H: Need some followup help with a TI design http://www.ti.com/tool/TIDM-BATTERYLESSNFCKEYBOARD

Part Number: RF430CL330H

Hi.

I need some additional assistance regarding the BOM in  www.ti.com/.../TIDM-BATTERYLESSNFCKEYBOARD

In the MSP430 forum, some kind souls helped out dissecting the BOM. Please take a look at the prior post (and answers) in

Can a kind soul please point me to the actual antenna used in the NFC keyboard design?

The BOM in the page does not list it.

Can I really use any 13.56 mhz antenna (as stated in the prior thread discussion) ?

Thank you!

  • Hi Jason,

As I mentioned on that thread, we don't know exactly what antenna was used for that design. The NFC frequency band is 13.56MHz, so if you have an antenna tuned for that frequency range, then it should work fine.

I should have clarified one point better, in that the antenna tuning for the RF430CL330H is that of a resonant tank circuit, so that is a bit different than your standard 3 element match seen on some over-the-shelf antennas. Check out this document for details about the resonant tank circuit to help with antenna selection for the design: www.ti.com/.../sloa197.pdf
