Can i buy from this website or from an supplier of your company an RFID HDX Reader for (multiple) external antenna's with a read range around 40 cm or 20 cm front 20 cm back?

Hello Marit,

Getting such read ranges is going to be very challenging. The idea of 20cm in the front and 20cm in the back is more realistic. How large of a transponder are you planning to read?

To answer your question, we don't sell antennas or have a specific supplier for such an antenna.

Thank you so much for your quick answer.
Is it possible to make a coil antenna size 35 cm height or maybe 73 cm height?
we like to cover 20 cm back and front inside the coil antenna.
We will use the transponder size that can be used for such read.
I saw in the description that HDX can reach 2 meter or something??

Wich reader should we get?

i did this about 9 years back, with the RI-STU-MRD1.

If it helps -

now the RI-STU-MRD2 is out - you could see if you are allowed to use any of the GPIOs (using the MSP430 onboard) to drive the relay.

also - you want to consider a sync circuit as well - if you have multiple readers near each other.

yes thats the solution for the multiple antenna isue but does this resolve the read range ... an external antenna size: 73cm that reads front and back 20 cm???

to be clear - you can make the antenna the size you want, that was just a range of antenna examples. Typically, magnetic field applications, the user always makes their own antenna. You of course need to test out what you make with the tag you are using. (to ensure read distance is what you need and there are no read holes because you might make the antenna too large for the tag you are using)
